The Cincinnati Center for Autism not only offers a full time school program, we also have a large variety of appointment based services available:
Individualized Therapeutic Intervention (Insurance)
This service is individualized based on the therapeutic priorities and unique needs of each student. Parents are encouraged to provide input regarding specific treatment goals. These services may be covered by families insurance benefits.
Social skills groups target the development of skills related to language and communication, social interaction and leisure. Students are paired with 1-2 appropriate peers and programming is individualized to the interests and needs of each pairing.
This service is individually based on the education priorities and unique needs of each student. Academic tutoring can be provided using strategies such as: TouchMath (a multi-sensory approach to learning basic mathematics), Language for Learning (specialized direct-instruction style curriculum targeting the development of complex language) and Edmark Reading Program (a sequenced, highly repetitive word recognition program as an alternative to phonics). These are a few examples of academic areas used within our Academic Tutoring Program.
Speech Language Therapy
Speech therapy services at CCA are able to address the following areas: play skills, communication, feeding, speech, oral motor abilities, language, social skills, play skills and communication devices. The speech therapist at CCA will work with the family to create a speech therapy program that is functional and tailored to address your child’s needs
Occupational therapy services at CCA are able to address the following: fine motor development, sensory integration adapting the environment to support educational objectives and educating the student/family to increase participation in activities of daily living.
Music Therapy Services
All students enrolled in CCA receive group music therapy. Music Therapy services are also offered by appointment. These services are offered on both a one-on-one and small group basis. Music therapy is stimulating, motivating, interactive, multi-sensory, and fun!!! Therapy goals are individualized to each student’s needs but often target communication skills, social skills, listening skills, and play skills.
On-site consultation/supervision of home-based and school-based intervention programs by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Consultation services are individualized to meet the needs of each family/child. Services may include: IEP support, assessment of an individual student’s skill level, functional assessment of challenging behavior, program development, staff training, and program oversight.
