The Cincinnati Center for Autism (CCA) believes that every child has the potential to learn. We work to identify a student’s areas of strength and challenge, and create an individualized program that supports the student’s unique needs.
All programs offered by Cincinnati Center for Autism utilize the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and empirically-validated intervention techniques to support the development of functional living skills.
All programs are offered to students ages 3-21.
CCA School Program
The CCA School Program focuses on developing the necessary skills for students with ASD and other related disorders to participate in a less restrictive environment. Educational programs are individualized to meet each student’s needs and typically include instruction related to the following skill areas: language and communication, pre-academics/ academics, classroom readiness, daily living, social, and independent play/leisure. Students have access to an Intervention Specialist, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Music Therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Placement options range from 1:1 to 1:3 (teacher: student) ratios.
LEAPS (Learning and Exploring Academics through Positive Support): The LEAPS program is appropriate for students who require specialized instruction and support to effectively access an academic curriculum. Students in the LEAPS program are able to safely participate in a low-ratio classroom.
STEPS (Severe behavior Treatment and Education through Positive Support): The STEPS program is appropriate for students who are regularly engaging in problem behavior which is severely affecting his/her ability to be in a less restrictive learning environment. The primary objective of the STEPS program is identification of effective behavioral intervention to support stabilization of behavior. Students then have the opportunity to transition in to the LEAPS program or back to their district school.
