Camp Ability

Camp Ability is a unique summer experience for students ages 3-21. Our camp programming includes activities in creative arts, daily living, sports, and nature. All activities are structured to address communication, academics, socialization, and the behavior needs common
for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other related disorders. CCA’s skilled staff provide a specialized summer camp program with low instructor-to-camper ratios; either 1:1 or 1:3 based on the camper’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or determination by CCA staff. Examples of activities may include: cooking skills and meal planning, recreational activities (i.e., kickball, yoga, dancing, tag), social communication activities (i.e., board games), and scientific exploration (i.e., nature hikes, experiments, water play). Our team is dedicated to providing a great summer experience full of friendship, fun, and memories.

Extended School Year (ESY)

ESY Services are individualized and offered to both families and local school districts. These services are based on the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Progress reports and data are provided upon the completion of services. Students may be
included in Camp Ability’s fun-filled activities throughout the day, giving them the best of both camp experiences.

Functional Analysis (FA)

A functional analysis (FA) of behavior is an experimental assessment method aimed at identifying the cause of problem behavior. This assessment technique provides the information required to develop a function-based, effective behavior plan for positive behavior  change. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) will work together to implement the FA,  develop an individualized behavior plan, test the behavior plan, and meet with the team to provide recommendations for on-going implementation of the plan.

Speech Language Therapy

Speech therapy services at CCA address the following in small groups or individual sessions: speech, language, social skills, and use of
augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) systems. The speech language pathologist (SLP) will work with the family and/or school district to create a speech therapy program that is functional and tailored to address each student’s needs. Sessions are appointment based
or arranged through the school districts.
